Mona Sehgal has two decades of experience in conducting performance audits of U.S. government-funded international programs. Mona currently serves as an Assistant Director at the U.S. Government Accountability Office and leads multidisciplinary teams that employ a range of methodologies including primary source interviews, focus groups, surveys, document reviews, and data analysis. Mona’s work has resulted in numerous published reports that have helped improve oversight of federal agencies and led to more effective agency performance. Previously, Mona volunteered with Asha for Education, a non-profit organization funding education of underprivileged children in India. In this role, Mona provided oversight of projects in India and organized fundraising events including cultural events and marathon training.
In her free time, Mona dabbles in writing children’s stories, running, and yoga. Mona has a Master’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University, a Bachelor’s degree in American and World Literature from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University.
